Presentation of the perfume Lacoste L.12.12 Silver Grey Fougère-woody sport-chic DNA Launched in spring 2025, Silver Grey embodies Lacoste's athleisure vein: a fougère-woody breath that combines zesty mandarin, mineral incense, aromatic lavender and woody ambrox for a sharp warm-cold contrast. Metallic inspiration polo heritage The mirror-gray bottle recalls René Lacoste's first steel racket and reinterprets the famous petit piqué of the L.12.12 polo, a symbol of relaxed elegance.

Revisited fougère-woody olfactory signature

Full pyramid & key accords

Top notes – Cold-pressed Italian mandarin and purified olibanum incense open on a smoky citrus breath that electrifies the senses.
Heart notes – Fine Provence lavender, distilled under low pressure, blends with a bourbon geranium with rose-mint facets for a vibrant aromatic lift.
Base notes – Bioconverted Ambrox™ and LMR Haitian vetiver create a woody-amber sillage with longevity of over 8 hours, supported by a touch of cedar for verticality.

Warm-cold sport-chic contrast

The citrus/incense blend cools the lavender before Ambrox brings amber warmth: a play of temperatures that reflects the polo-on-court DNA dear to Lacoste.

Raw materials & traceability

Calabria mandarin & Ethiopian incense

The Italian mandarin, pressed within 24 hours of harvest, delivers an oil with sparkling, lightly sweet nuances that energize the opening. Ethiopian incense, obtained by hydro-distillation of Boswellia resin, adds a smoky mineral facet while offering natural fixative properties.

Responsible fine lavender & bourbon geranium

Fine lavender grown in Provence uses regenerative farming practices to preserve the biodiversity of the Valensole plateau, limiting nitrogen fertilizers. Bourbon geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) from Madagascar is steam-distilled in stainless steel stills, imparting the sought-after rosy, minty tonality.

Biosourced Ambrox™ & certified Haitian vetiver

Ambrox™ comes from a bioconversion of cane sugar: a Givaudan process that reduces the carbon footprint by 90% compared to conventional synthesis. LMR Haitian vetiver comes from the Vetiver Together program, which supports 2,000 families and guarantees a floor price that doubles local income.

Technical construction by Bruno Jovanovic

Controlled incense overdose

The perfumer doses the incense at 2.5% of the concentrate — an atypical level for a fougère — to achieve a modern smoky trait without masking the aromatic freshness.

Aromatic balance & diffusion

A 60/40 ratio between lavender and geranium balances the floral camphor nuance, while a link-chain of clean musks accentuates diffusion in a light halo.

High-longevity woody fixation

The combination of 1.8% Ambrox and 1.2% vetiver creates a hydrophobic base that adheres to keratin, extending projection beyond the workday.

Eco-formulation & sustainability

Biodegradable materials & IFRA scores

92% of the molecules are classified Readily Biodegradable (OECD 301); no material exceeds IFRA Cat. 4 limits, ensuring safety and global compliance.

Reduced carbon footprint

By replacing natural ambergris with biosourced Ambrox™, Lacoste eliminates 1.5 kg CO₂ eq per 100 ml bottle, while the glass contains 20% recycled cullet.

Fair supply chain

The Vetiver Together program funds resilient seeds, irrigation wells and ecological training sessions for Haitian growers.

Application tips & creative layering

Ideal for four seasons

Apply 3 sprays: hollow of the neck, chest, inside of the wrists. On warm summer skin, the mandarin brightens; in winter, the incense and ambrox dominate.

Elegant woody layering

Layer Silver Grey with a leathery fragrance or a cedar oil to accentuate the earthy-woody dimension, or with a citrus Cologne to highlight the mandarin.
