Gentleman Eau de Toilette Intense

Gentleman Eau de Toilette Intense: Givenchy's new masculine fragrance. In 1975, Hubert de Givenchy decided to create a third masculine fragrance to expand his catalog. However, he decided to break away literally from tradition, forsaking the usual freshness of masculine fragrances in favor of a more assertive power.

In 1975, the house of Givenchy created a historic fragrance: Gentleman. It offered men a fragrance radically different from the juices that had existed until then, daring to bring more power and charisma. Then, in 2017, Givenchy decided to pay tribute to this olfactory legend, while radically transforming it. This is how the new, more subtle and delicate edition of Gentleman was created. In 2021, history repeats itself once again and Givenchy treats us to a new addition to its collection: Gentleman Eau de Toilette Intense. Of course, a new creation also means a new bottle. Let us see how its glass bottle has transformed over time.

The first bottle of Gentleman by Givenchy, in 1975

Let us begin by examining the very first bottle of Gentleman from 1975, to better understand the origin of its current design. Indeed, it is far from being entirely different from the latest glass case of Gentleman Eau de Toilette Intense. Initially, Gentleman was presented in an elegant and understated bottle. The idea was to visually convey the spirit of the house of Givenchy, very famous in the world of haute couture. To do so, the house turned toward a glass case with a square shape, as rigorous as it was masculine. This silhouette also had rounded shoulders, as if to embody the stature of a charismatic man. The whole extended into a shiny metal cap, itself topping an opaque black collar. On its front face, Gentleman by Givenchy bore its name on a silver label. Understated and masculine, this visual went straight to the essentials.

The modern reinterpretation of Gentleman, in 2017

When it was modernized, in 2017, Gentleman took on a new bottle, without entirely denying its origins. Thus, from its first edition, we still find its square silhouette and rounded shoulders. Moreover, the softness of its rounded forms has today become more pronounced. The thick base of this bottle also widened, as if to represent a man who is more stable and firmly grounded on his footing. The shape of its collar and its cap, meanwhile, was preserved. The label of this fragrance, however, expanded considerably, forming a wide black band encircling the entire glass bottle. As for color, transparency is joined by an opaque black, appearing twice, on its cap and on its label.

The new bottle of Gentleman Eau de Toilette Intense, in 2021

In 2021, the shape of the 2017 Gentleman remains exactly the same. Neoclassical, this visual aims to be as soft as it is statuesque. Streamlined and impactful, it seems to belong to no particular era. To echo the blue iris it contains, Gentleman Eau de Toilette Intense takes on a new color gradient. Its base is almost transparent, in a clear light blue. Its top remains opaque black. Its center, however, passes through an infinitely elegant midnight blue. As for size, Gentleman Eau de Toilette Intense by Givenchy is available in two spray bottles, of 60 and 100 ml.
