Paco Rabanne launched Fame in July 2022, a year after Phantom, its robot-shaped men’s fragrance. Dora Baghriche, Marie Salamagne, Alberto Morillas and Fabrice Pellegrin signed its floral formula, which the house sums up in three materials: mango in the top, jasmine in the heart, and a creamy incense in the base, wrapped in sandalwood and vanilla. Elle Fanning is its face.

The house sums up Fame in three materials, one per tier: mango in the top, jasmine in the heart, incense in the base. It promises a succulent mango, an airy jasmine of exceptional purity and a creamy, sensual, addictive incense, three materials it wants in contrast.

Dora Baghriche, who co-signed the fragrance, details the accord: an incense wrapped in the warmth of sandalwood and vanilla, brightened by jasmine and mango. The base thus brings together olibanum, sandalwood and vanilla; the top comes down to mango.

What the critic perceives

Mona Mostafa, writing for iFragrance, divides the fragrance differently: a tangy mango at the start, olibanum within the first minutes alongside jasmine, sandalwood and vanilla after an hour. That is her judgment; the house places the incense in the base.

What stays out

The most widespread commercial lists add a bergamot in the top and place the incense in the heart, with jasmine; the house declares neither. The ingredient list names no citrus oil: among its fragrance components, it declares limonene, linalool and citral.
