Eau du Soir
Eau du Soir, a timeless charm. Created in 1976 by Hubert d’Ornano, Sisley is a family-run house led by Hubert and his wife Isabelle d’Ornano. Drawn to plant-based skincare, the d’Ornano couple innovated by creating products derived from phytocosmetology.

Where to buy
From beauty products to perfumes, Sisley is a symbol of luxury and quality, but above all, Sisley represents an exceptional family achievement. In 1990, Hubert d’Ornano decided to create a perfume just for his wife, and this became Eau du Soir. Chypre inspirations and subtle accords made Eau du Soir one of the house’s finest achievements.
The perfect accords of Eau du Soir
Eau du Soir is a composition of great olfactory richness. Eau du Soir is a perfect balance between the freshness of citrus notes, the sensuality of floral and chypre notes, and the intensity of amber and musky notes. Eau du Soir opens with the sparkling, fresh notes of mandarin and grapefruit. The heart turns soft and delicate with the presence of rose and jasmine. The base, meanwhile, is woody and ambery thanks to notes of patchouli and amber. Intensity gradually envelops the whole composition. The fragrance is striking and captivating, in the image of the Sisley woman.
Eau du Soir and its 18-karat gold bottle
For the house of Sisley’s first perfume, a memorable bottle was needed. A bottle with a raw appearance, yet topped with a lyrical, feminine sculpture-cap in the shape of a face. A gold face containing no less than 18 karats… This sculpture is the work of Polish artist Bronislaw Krzysztof. A true jewel! This bottle has remained the same since its release, even though, every year, Sisley releases very different limited editions. Every year at Christmas, fantasy, graphic design and elegance come together, to the great delight of Eau du Soir’s fans. Year after year, the woman remains mysterious, bewitching, yet so graceful. Eau du Soir is among the perfumes that exude femininity, immediately enhancing it. The elegance of the sillage combined with the prestige of the bottle has made Eau du Soir a timeless composition.
Sisley’s adventure begins with the love story of Hubert d’Ornano and his wife Isabelle. Through the use of phytotherapy, they revolutionized the world of cosmetics and beauty. Eau du Soir is not only the house’s first perfume, but above all it is the perfume Hubert created just for his wife. Eau du Soir offers perfect accords between citrus, floral, chypre and musky notes. A bewitching composition that leaves behind an unforgettable, almost indelible sillage.

The advertising
A specialist in luxury cosmetic products, the house Sisley very quickly established itself as a renowned perfumer. As early as 1974, it created a first perfume. Its best-seller, meanwhile, appeared a little later, in 1990. Named Eau du Soir, it is a perfume deeply inspired by Andalusia, the land that saw the house’s founder, Isabelle d’Ornano, grow up. Since its release, Eau du Soir has gained many devotees. Yet, until very recently, this perfume had no television advertising. This changed to celebrate its 30th anniversary… A unique opportunity to discover its campaign and decode its imagery!
Eau du Soir, an Andalusian stroll
First, to better understand the enchanting and poetic world of this advertisement, one must immerse oneself in the world of this perfume. Sisley’s Eau du Soir is a feminine essence that immerses one in the heart of Andalusia, drawing more precisely on the inspiration of the gardens of the Alcazar, an emblematic site in Seville. Indeed, this perfume was originally created by Hubert d’Ornano as a tribute to his wife. And it is precisely in southern Spain that she grew up. It was there that she developed her sense of smell and acquired a taste for highly floral or citrus scents. Thus, Eau du Soir contains notes of mandarin, grapefruit and neroli, so many refreshing elements paired with intoxicating flowers or a few spices. This perfume is also presented in a bottle of great beauty, topped with a golden sculpture serving as a cap. Thanks to it, Eau du Soir navigates between dream and reality. And its advertisement is precisely crafted like a poetic dream.
The advertisement for Sisley’s Eau du Soir
In the advertisement for Eau du Soir, the scene unfolds in an apartment with a very baroque atmosphere. And southern Spain is famous for this artistic movement. It is omnipresent, both in historic monuments and in the city’s luxurious apartments. Note, however, that in reality this advertising campaign was shot in a Parisian apartment. No matter, the baroque style is present and it undeniably recalls the aesthetic of the Sisley bottle. In this advertisement, every element of the setting comes to life the very instant a young woman sprays a few notes of Eau du Soir into the room. The atmosphere immediately becomes very dreamlike, a metaphorical way of illustrating the power of attraction of this cult perfume. Its imprint is magnetic. This is clearly felt in its television campaign. What is more, since Eau du Soir has always immersed us in the intimate world of the d’Ornano family, know that its face is none other than Sonia Vasena, a beautiful redhead of flamboyant beauty, who is in fact Isabelle d’Ornano’s niece. The advertisement finally closes on a vision of the Eau du Soir bottle, in its standard, original format. Indeed, know that this is a perfume regularly revisited in limited editions… Forewarned is forearmed!
