Soir d’Orient, Isabelle d’Ornano’s waking dream

After working alongside the greatest perfumers and cosmetologists, Hubert and Isabelle d’Ornano chose to found their own house, Sisley, in 1976. Built on research, quality and family cohesion, the house of Sisley became within a few years a byword for excellence, whether in cosmetology, makeup or perfumery.

This unique expertise is naturally found in all the house’s perfumes, which, created far more out of artistic concern than commercial intent, do not seek to satisfy trends but rather to offer a distinguished olfactory journey. Thus, despite the 1990 success of the beautiful Andalusian Eau du Soir, Isabelle d’Ornano only wished to return to her Spanish origins in 2015 (after four years of intense work) with Soir d’Orient.

Soir d’Orient thus remains a vibrant tribute from the creator to her origins, just as Eau du Soir once was. Yet this new evening journey, this new paseo, aims to be far more intense, and in this Soir d’Orient one can almost feel the warm stones of the Alcazar of Seville tickling the nostrils!

Soir d’Orient is a return to the origins of Eau du Soir. The house extends the journey begun in the gardens of that legendary place, the Alcazar, by entering the heart of the building to discover its treasures. Sisley on Soir d’Orient.

The beautiful Soir d’Orient, conceived as a scented work of art, could hardly have done without a modern and delicate visual painted by the artist Benjamin Castillo Barragan. Nor should one forget its magnificent advertisement, which opens the thick doors of the mysterious worlds of the Alcazar, like those of a magical realm where the elements cross and intertwine.

A chypre-floral-oriental sparkling with mystery: Soir d’Orient by Sisley...

Since Soir d’Orient is meant to be the continuation of Eau du Soir, it comes as no surprise to find on this bottle the magnificent work of Bronislaw Krzysztof, like a golden headdress set upon the top of the glass. This time, however, the glass is dressed in an intense lacquered black, as mysterious as its juice. Finally, the golden spirals drawn on the bottle bring us once more back to the majestic Spanish palace that inspired Sisley.

Soir d’Orient was composed as a three-part symphony by Olivier Pescheux, in close collaboration with Isabelle d’Ornano. First, we enter a haven of freshness propelled by an Italian lemon and made even more nervous by an Iranian galbanum. These dynamic forces do not hesitate to blend into a spicy and voluptuous saffron. Then, in the heart, opulent Turkish rose combines with a spicy Egyptian geranium, unafraid to sit alongside a few overpowering touches of black pepper. Finally, Indonesian patchoulis paired with sandalwoods melt us into sensual pleasure, which leaves us in a few spirals of incense so deep and so penetrating...

Soir d’Orient is above all the story of a crossing dreamed by Isabelle d’Ornano toward the shores of memory, carrying Sisley into the magic of this atmosphere of elegant opulence. A pilgrimage toward Andalusian lands that can be grasped through a single breath. Sisley on Soir d’Orient.
