Where to buy

However, unlike the main perfume brands, Sisley does not particularly follow trends and only creates very rare fragrances that are always especially anticipated. In this context, Izia made its appearance in 2017, revealing the full sun-kissed beauty of women through the Ornano rose. Today, this already cult fragrance returns to the spotlight, in a much darker facet named Izia la Nuit.

Izia la Nuit, a sophisticated perfume inspired by the rose

Generally speaking, rose is an emblematic raw material of feminine perfumery. Indeed, it is one of the most used ingredients of all time in composing fragrances. Women have adored it since antiquity and its success never wanes. Moreover, it is also one of the most favored ingredients of Isabelle d’Ornano, founder of Sisley. Having grown up in Andalusia, she has always been surrounded by very floral scents. As rose is very present in that part of the world, it naturally finds its way into many of the house’s perfumes.
Here, however, it reveals a completely different face. The rose in Izia la Nuit proves more singular and hypnotic. This is the Ornano rose, an exceptional plant that blooms only once a year, for a brief moment. Izia la Nuit stems from an appointment not to be missed. Moreover, it also aims to be as mysterious as it is captivating. In this perfume, the fresh, airy scent of Izia transforms into a more sophisticated and biting fragrance. This new contemporary sillage contrasts a colorful scent with a final, more woody and tenacious breath. The result is a highly refined and long-lasting perfume.

Izia la Nuit, a hymn to the night in a jewel-like bottle

Izia la Nuit by Sisley comes in a bottle designed by sculptor Bronislaw Krysztof, whose collaboration with the brand has become a long-standing habit. Here, he chose to present the perfume Izia la Nuit in a bottle with a very natural spirit. Resembling a pebble, it relies on roundness, which gives it a perfect grip. Yet it remains no less luxurious. Its shimmering black lacquer faces a few more golden elements, for an absolutely fascinating nocturnal and sparkling contrast.
In terms of scent, Izia la Nuit opens with a fresh and vibrant burst of fruit. It blends mandarin, blackcurrant and cardamom. Then, its initial liveliness gives way to a brighter, more floral heart. This is when the Ornano rose makes its appearance, alongside magnolia and freesia. Little by little, the whole darkens, and Izia la Nuit by Sisley closes with woody and sensual base notes of patchouli, vanilla and ambroxan.

Olfastory’s review

The house Sisley by far prefers quality over quantity. As proof, its olfactory creations are quite distinct from one another and the brand’s reputation is enough to provide them with excellent publicity. With Sisley, television marketing campaigns are rare and world-famous ambassadors are nonexistent. In this context, in 2017, the release of a new feminine fragrance was highly anticipated. It was at this moment that the feminine fragrance Izia made its appearance. Today, in 2021, Sisley decides to reinterpret it in a completely new form named Izia la Nuit. What are its strengths? What are its differences from its predecessor? Here is our review.

Short film and family connection

A short film brings together Sonia Vasena, niece of Isabelle d’Ornano, who already played the Izia woman in the film devoted to the line.

The campaign takes the form of a short film. Sonia Vasena, niece of Isabelle d’Ornano, appears in it, as she already portrayed the Izia woman in the Sisley film devoted to the line. For Izia in 2017, the house states that the imagery had been entrusted to artist Quentin Jones, chosen by Christine d’Ornano, and that Isabelle d’Ornano had selected her niece Sonia to embody this world.
