Sisley is a house that was created in 1972 by the d’Ornano family, celebrated for its research and its major advances in phytocosmetology. Initially specialized in luxury cosmetics, Sisley took little time to diversify its activity. Indeed, its very first perfume was created in 1974. It was a highly green fragrance, inspired by eaux de Cologne, and named Eau de Campagne. Then, one had to wait until 1990 to see the house’s second creation appear. Eau du Soir, an evocation of Seville on a summer evening
Sisley’s Eau du Soir is a true invitation to travel, and this is undoubtedly one of the keys to its success. It tells the story of a walk at nightfall, in southern Spain. More precisely, the scene unfolds in the gardens of the Alcazar, an emblematic site in Seville. Created by Jeannine Mongin and by the founders of the house Sisley, Mr. and Mrs. d’Ornano, Eau du Soir is a highly floral and chypre essence. Infinitely elegant, it carries one, with a single breath, to an elsewhere both near and far. Intimate, it also draws on Isabelle d’Ornano’s Andalusian origins.
The floral and luminous composition of Sisley’s Eau du Soir
In terms of composition, Sisley’s Eau du Soir is a very seductive perfume. First, it proves quite fresh and sparkling, pairing a tangy mandarin with a slightly more bitter grapefruit. Clove, meanwhile, tickles this opening and lends it a spicier touch. Then, the heart of Eau du Soir becomes an elegant floral bouquet blending jasmine, rose, ylang-ylang and mock orange blossom. Finally, Sisley’s Eau du Soir transforms into a warm and sensual breath, combining patchouli, amber, cistus and white musk.
A bottle crafted like a true sculpture
In addition to this enchanting world and this intoxicating scent, note also that Eau du Soir has a bottle of great beauty. It has a rather sober rectangular glass base. However, the surprise comes from its cap. This is a true work of art! Designed in 1998 by Polish artist Bronislaw Krzysztof, it depicts a woman’s face sculpted in a golden material. Flashy and baroque, it fits marvelously within the artistic world of Andalusia. On its own, it expresses the full charm of femininity and the full prestige of the house Sisley. With all these elements, Eau du Soir reinvents itself year after year in numerous limited editions, delighting collectors along the way.
