In this vein, Sisley currently presents a collector's edition of its famous Eau du Soir. This edition has transformed its bottle, as if to pay tribute to the co-founder of the house: Hubert d'Ornano.

The new aesthetic of the 2017 Limited Edition of Eau du Soir

The Eau du Soir Limited Edition 2017 has a striking aesthetic of boldness and creativity. Of course, this bottle has kept its iconic cap. It must be said that this cap has been the signature of this fragrance since its very first release. It was crafted by the Polish sculptor Bronislaw Krzysytof, who immediately agreed to take charge of its creation, so seduced was he by the scent of this fragrance. The artist envisioned a sort of face, hair blowing in the wind, a mysterious gaze and an angelic air. The whole is made from a matte 18-carat gold mesh. However, while this sculpture once topped a transparent base, it now sits atop a thick cube of black lacquered glass. The whole is opaque but does not lack cheerfulness for all that. Indeed, this black color is dotted with numerous stars as well as white circles. A few red tones also illuminate the whole. This entire design is echoed on the fragrance's cardboard box, on which the Sisley family crest proudly appears. As for the scent, however, the Eau du Soir Limited Edition 2017 has kept its original formula. It is a chypre juice opening with a blend of citrus and evolving toward a floral heart before ending on a base of amber and musk.

A tribute to Hubert d'Ornano, founder of Sisley

While the house of Sisley is accustomed to crafting limited editions of its fragrance, this one would seem to carry a very different meaning. Indeed, the house has revealed that it is a tribute to Hubert d'Ornano, co-founder of the house. He succeeded in making Sisley a global reference. He also recounted his personal story in a book titled La Beauté en Partage. In it, he says he had the good fortune to be born under a lucky star. Whether or not this very phrase inspired the design of this new 2017 Limited Edition of Eau du Soir remains to be seen. Be that as it may, this new fragrance stands as a fine tribute to a great man, who passed away at the age of 89 on September 25, 2015, in Paris.
