Eau du Soir

Eau du Soir, a timeless charm. Created in 1976 by Hubert d’Ornano, Sisley is a family-run house led by Hubert and his wife Isabelle d’Ornano. Drawn to plant-based skincare, the d’Ornano couple innovated by creating products derived from phytocosmetology.

The house of Sisley was founded in 1972. Its first perfume, meanwhile, appeared two years later, in 1974. However, one had to wait until 1990 to see its best-seller born: Eau du Soir. Deeply inspired by Isabelle d’Ornano’s childhood, it immerses one in the heart of Andalusia, and more specifically in Seville. Crafted like a love story lived in a garden on a summer dusk, it is a true olfactory dream. Rich in emotions, it is an intoxicating and refined floral bouquet. Moreover, if Eau du Soir enjoys such success, it is also thanks to its bottle

Sisley opts for a rather sober yet elegant glass base

Let us begin by looking at the main component of this bottle: its container, strictly speaking. The perfume Eau du Soir is here enclosed in a fully transparent glass base, letting us glimpse the full luminosity of a pale-yellow juice. Made of thick glass, Eau du Soir immediately conveys a sense of refinement. Its name, meanwhile, appears in black capital lettering on the front face. It should also be noted that this perfume is not signed Sisley, but rather bears the names Hubert and Isabelle d’Ornano on its surface, as though handwritten. Thus, this perfume appears intimate and highly personal. From then on, the mere visual of this bottle is enough to immerse one in the couple’s intimacy.

A sculpture as a cap

While the glass container of Eau du Soir is the major element since it holds the perfume, it is topped with a true sculpture serving as its cap. Indeed, it is very rare for such attention to be drawn to a perfume’s cap. This one is the work of Polish artist Bronislaw Krzysztof. To draw us into the baroque world typical of southern Spain, he chose to craft a gold-lacquered sculpture. This flashy effect is emblematic of the Spanish artistic movement. Here, the motif is a woman’s face, hair rippling in the wind. Since its release, this cap has remained unchanged. It has become the signature of Sisley’s feminine perfume Eau du Soir.

The limited editions of Sisley’s Eau du Soir

While the cap of Eau du Soir remains the same year after year, note that the rest of the Eau du Soir bottle regularly sees new releases, particularly limited editions for each year-end holiday season. Thus, Eau du Soir is a gift to give and give again. It is rediscovered with pleasure and also delights collectors. In 2020, for example, Eau du Soir took on an intriguing midnight blue, while featuring a label resembling a most poetic pink sky. On it, clouds spread gently and romantically. From then on, it becomes an invitation to dream, while preserving its iconic cap.
As for size, the Sisley Eau du Soir bottle comes in several different formats. It is available in 30, 50 or 100 ml spray bottles.
