Sauvage Eau Forte is the line’s first alcohol-free version, composed by Francis Kurkdjian for Dior in 2024 around the power of water. The house presents it as a fresh, spicy fougère, as fresh as an eau de toilette and as intense as a parfum: cold spices and elemi, bleached lavender, musky woods.
The notes announced by the house are few: cold spices and elemi resin at the top, a lavender at the heart, woods and musks at the base. Dior sums up the accord as fresh spices, bleached lavender and musky wood.
No citrus note appears, neither bergamot nor grapefruit, unlike the other Sauvage fragrances. Ambroxan, which the house associates with the eau de toilette, does not appear among the announced notes either.
A water-based formula
The ingredient list opens with water and fragrance; it declares glycols, glycerin, triglycerides and hydrogenated lecithin, and no alcohol. Coumarin and linalool appear among its fragrant components.
