In order to perfect these exceptional bottles, the perfumer went even further by offering the Elixirs Précieux, which allow one to combine with the other fragrances in the collection to compose one's own Dior fragrance. An exceptional privilege for such rare essences as Musc Elixir Précieux.

A sophisticated and powerful musk to create a custom Dior fragrance: Musc Elixir Précieux

The Dior perfume house was created in the 1950s with the appearance of the beautiful and floral Miss Dior. From then on, Christian Dior and his team never stopped surprising and delighting us with sophisticated and modern fragrances, particularly since the arrival of François Demachy as the house's in-house perfumer in 2006.

François Demachy's style of perfumery is a genre all its own, where natural ingredients are elevated by the perfumer's boldness, where traditional, very “Dior” scents are shaken up by the artist perfumer's original impulses. With La Collection Privée, François Demachy gave free rein to his talents and creativity, a creativity he draws from his extensive knowledge in chemistry, but also in art and history.

Drawing on a Middle Eastern tradition more than 3,000 years old, the Dior perfumer chose to compose four Elixirs Précieux bottles for use in layering, the art of blending different fragrances into a single one that will pair perfectly with each Dior customer.
Musc Elixir Précieux, like Ambre Elixir Précieux or Oud Elixir Précieux, was designed to be the strength and power behind the bottles of La Collection Privée Christian Dior. Musc Elixir Précieux is all the more powerful for being composed of vegetal musks, a rare thing in perfumery today.

Musc Elixir Précieux and Dior's love of natural raw materials

Musc Elixir Précieux aims to highlight this remarkable raw material, which was used for centuries in classic perfumery. Originally, however, musk was an animal-derived raw material that had to be extracted from the musk deer, which unfortunately had to be killed to obtain the precious substance.

Times have changed, and this beautiful animal can now live in peace, as certain plants produce this famous musk scent. However, their rarity makes them a prohibitively expensive ingredient rarely used as such: they are replaced by synthetic materials. In Musc Elixir Précieux, François Demachy took particular care to use musk only in its vegetal form, in order to perfect its quality and exceptional character.

François Demachy recommends pairing Musc Elixir Précieux with the La Collection Privée bottle Granville, which exudes a bracing citrus energy set against very oriental, woody depths. Adding a few drops of Musc Elixir Précieux to Granville makes the woody facets of this fragrance, with its air of a churning sea, even more powerful, even more virile.

Thus Élixir Précieux Musc comes to shake up the masculinity of Granville, completing the charm of this bold Eau de Parfum. Dior on Musc Elixir Précieux.
