Contre Moi is one of the seven eaux de parfum that marked Louis Vuitton’s return to perfumery in 2016. Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, the house’s master perfumer, pays tribute to vanilla here: Madagascar vanilla and Tahitensis vanilla, lightened with orange blossom, rose and magnolia and lifted by a touch of bitter cocoa. The house sees in it the fusion of two travelers.
A clear glass bottle designed by Marc Newson, refillable and topped with a black cap stamped with the LV initials.
Marc Newson designed the bottle for the whole collection. He wanted it classic and timeless: clean lines of glass, the fragrance name in black lettering, Louis Vuitton’s name discreetly engraved below.
A black cap stamped with the LV initials in brass tops the bottle and conceals the atomizer; the designer sees it as a nod to antique bottles. The 100 or 200 ml bottle can be refilled in store.
For travel, the house offers a spray and four 7.5 ml cartridges with a magnetic closure that clip onto the atomizer in a single gesture. A set gathers the seven fragrances as 10 ml miniatures, and a small trunk holds three 100 ml bottles.
