Fougère revisited by Armani
Just like the first version of Armani Code, the new Code Colonia places fougère at the center of its composition. Indeed, this accord is a staple of men's perfumery that Armani has enjoyed revisiting since the launch of the first installment of this olfactory collection. This time, it is paired with aromatic notes, which only enhances it with a touch of modernity. Its opening is fresh and sharp, providing the dynamism men need on a daily basis. Armani Code Colonia also contains bergamot and mandarin. These citrus notes are also paired with pink pepper, a small ingredient that underscores the determination of the Armani man with a hint of spice. Then, the heart of Armani Code Colonia lights up with orange blossom, a plant dear to the house for its Mediterranean connotations. It is at this moment that the aromatic facet of this fragrance appears through the presence of clary sage. Heliotrope, in turn, proves sweet and balsamic. The whole then fills with sensuality until revealing an exquisite power of attraction through the creamy presence of tonka bean. The composition is signed by Antoine Maisondieu, a perfumer recognized around the world and who had already signed the first version of Armani Code.
The visual of the new Code Colonia
In terms of aesthetics, Armani Code Colonia remains faithful to the design of its predecessors. Its bottle retains exactly the same silhouette as those before it and still aims for sobriety and elegance. Having become a true house standard, it displays its off-center shape and its resolutely refined profile. Its glass, however, is more transparent than before. It reveals a light blue juice reflected in a base and a cap that are darker. Its cap, indeed, is lacquered in a deeper midnight blue and sits above a black ring at the neck. This sobriety is also evident in the advertising for this new fragrance. Armani Code Colonia is embodied on screen by American actor Chris Pine. Revealed to the general public in 2009, he is notably famous for his role as Captain Kirk in Star Trek. Additionally, in 2017 he will also appear in the blockbuster Wonder Woman.

Chris Pine, the perfect embodiment of Armani elegance
With a grandmother who was a Hollywood actress in the 1930s and 1940s, Anne Gwynne, and actor parents, Robert Pine and Gwynne Gilford, the charming Chris Pine could hardly have escaped this destiny. Born in Los Angeles, he studied drama before beginning his career in the world of theater. He then moved to television, making various appearances in short films and TV series. His first role on the big screen came in 2004, when Chris Pine played one of Anne Hathaway's many suitors in The Princess Diaries. From then on, he took on roles in all kinds of films, whether light comedies, thrillers, horror films or science fiction. Nevertheless, it was his role as Captain Kirk in Star Trek that truly launched his popularity. Now 36 years old, nothing seems able to resist him. The Code Colonia advertisement
While some houses choose to convey lengthy messages, with television clips sometimes exceeding two minutes, Armani opted instead for a short but no less intense advertisement. It runs for barely 18 seconds. The advertisement for Code Colonia was produced by the Italian communications agency Armando Testa in collaboration with Wanda Production. It opens with the name Giorgio Armani in white on a black background. The track Destinations by Gesaffelstein then plays, underscoring the contemporary feel of this advertisement with its electronic connotations. Our gaze then settles on Chris Pine as the actor gets ready in his bathroom. Wearing simply a white shirt left partly open, he fastens his cufflinks perfectly before reaching for his fragrance to further enhance his look. Code Colonia then seems to accentuate his charming, self-assured side. The whole ends with a striking vision of his gaze. Bold, sensual and determined all at once, it reveals the image of an ambitious man. Such is the image of the new Code Colonia.
