The history of Armani's Acqua Di Gio saga

Acqua Di Gio Profumo appears as the third chapter of the Acqua Di Gio Profumo story. It began in 1996 with the creation of the perfume Acqua Di Gio. It was an ode to nature, drawing more specifically on the island of Pantelleria. It is located in the middle of the Mediterranean, not far from Sicily. It is a piece of land shaped by the sea and the wind atop a volcanic reef. It is in this place that Giorgio Armani likes to rest and recharge between two creations. It is thus a tribute to this exceptional land that he created in olfactory form. This first perfume immediately met with great success. It was an almost aquatic fragrance in which one only had to close one's eyes to picture rolling waves under the rays of the sun. It was then followed, in 2012, by Acqua Di Gio Essenza, a woodier and more sensual creation, this time drawing its roots more from the land than from the sea. In this continuity, Acqua Di Gio Profumo, for its part, stands upon the rock. It is a mineral juice symbolizing the sea crashing against the cliffs.

The mineral fragrance of Acqua Di Gio Profumo

Acqua Di Gio Profumo is a more modern and more mineral perfume than before. It was created by perfumer Alberto Morillas. This exceptional nose revealed that he made an effort to completely forget the composition of the original Acqua Di Gio in order to craft this new fragrance. He reconstructed the entire history of Armani to create from it a highly contrasted juice with something volcanic about it. To embody the image of solidified lava, he decided to work with incense. Here, however, it proves very contemporary. It is perceived through all its facets. It has a fruitier dimension emanating from persimmon. Elemi and bergamot, for their part, bring here a genuine burst of freshness. This vigor is balanced by aromatic notes of geranium, sage and rosemary. Finally, to support the woody, refined aspect of the incense, Armani also added patchouli to the composition. From then on, Acqua Di Gio Profumo is a genuine surprise. It is a seducer with an extraordinary power of attraction. It is contained in a bottle emblematic of the entire Acqua Di Gio collection. This bottle, however, has been completely redesigned in black. It thus does not beat around the bush and immediately displays its masculinity.
