After Chance in 2003, Jacques Polge and the house of Chanel decided to give this original fruity floral a livelier flanker in 2007: Chance Eau Fraîche. This first flanker of the round bottle proved even more sparkling than its original juice while retaining the beauty of its elegant floral notes, very Chanel.

Jacques Polge, who joined the house of Chanel in 1978 to succeed Henri Robert, wanted to bring a breath of modernity to the venerable house while preserving the codes that had made its renown. Thus Jacques Polge marked the 1980s and 1990s with creations each more original than the last: Coco, Egoïste, Allure... By presenting Chance to the Chanel public at the dawn of the new millennium, Jacques Polge once again delighted in creating a surprise!
Indeed, Chance delights in shifting between classic, traditional Chanel luxury accords and entirely new fruity, exotic accords. It comes as no surprise, then, to discover very fresh and somewhat gourmand scents in the first flanker of Chance, Chance Eau Fraîche.
However, like its fragrant “father,” Chance Eau Fraîche does not entirely depart from Chanel's floral style. Jasmine absolute and lovely armfuls of white flowers dress this new Chanel perfume while indulging in magnificent tangy, woody fantasies that do not go unnoticed!
Sparkling, woody flourishes for a Chance Eau Fraîche perfume like a “breath of energy”
Chance Eau Fraîche was designed to be a genuine “booster” of energy and happiness. If the green, sparkling juice does not hesitate to present a floral heart, it is nonetheless quite bold for a Chanel perfume.
Jacques Polge indeed considerably emphasized the tangy top notes of Chance to magnify the presence of citron notes in this Chance Eau Fraîche. Furthermore, bergamot, lemon, pink pepper and hedione offer a sparkling, joyfully radiant ensemble. The soft jasmine notes of the heart, accompanied by floral splendors, still dare to pair with the very exotic note of pineapple. Finally, in Chance Eau Fraîche, Jacques Polge chose to reinforce the woody, sensual depths of the base with the precious essence of teak wood.
It would seem, then, that for Chance as for Chance Eau Fraîche, Jacques Polge brought together the vast majority of his favorite raw materials while enhancing them with the house's classic accords:
I cannot conceive of making a perfume without bergamot. There is also hedione (editor's note: hedione is a molecule that smells of both tea and jasmine and oxygenates a formula), jasmine, a good iris note...
