Where to buy

Success did not take long to arrive, and the boutique became a pillar of the jet-set. Buoyed by this success, the two partners launched into perfumery in 1970 with Eau Cendrée. Silences, a feminine fragrance, was released shortly after, in 1978.

The floral symphony of Silences

In her round black dress, soft and silent as a pebble, the woman appears triumphant. Regarding the composition, Jacomo states: the secret is silences… Silence gathers the emotion of bodies like water does, some women know this. The fragrance Silences will therefore be that of a discreet, secretive woman, a woman who keeps silences within her. Her mysterious side is surprising but inevitably attracts. Her silence is her strength, and she reveals an unexpected sensuality. Silences is a floral symphony, both chic and classic, with a surprising name. Here, flowers and green notes have free rein. Its name evokes music, whose language remains very close to that of a perfume. Silences was redesigned in 2004 and comes with new packaging.

The floral notes of Silences

The elegance of the woman is embodied here by the beauty of the floral notes. Silences opens with a citrus freshness of lemon and bergamot. Then comes galbanum, which offers a breath of greenery, and orange blossom, which brightens the whole. The heart is ultra-feminine, composed of Bulgarian rose, iris, hyacinth and lily of the valley. The base aims for extreme sensuality thanks to the presence of oakmoss, cedarwood, sandalwood and white musks. The bottle is very fashionable, thoroughly designed. Round, it resembles a pebble washed up by the waves. Its shine brings elegance and restraint. Its black color adds a final touch of sophistication, while also evoking the mysterious and silent side of a woman. Silences is a soft symphony that sings in the heart of every woman.

Silences resembles a symphony, because music resembles perfumery. Silences by Jacomo is a rare composition that combines femininity, mystery and sensuality. Here, floral notes dominate the whole, even though they generously pair with galbanum and its green accords. The Silences woman is secretive, yet knows how to remain elegant, sensual and attractive.

Olfastory’s review

The fragrance of silence according to Jacomo The perfume house Jacomo Paris was created at the initiative of Gérard Courtin in 1965. This man, associated with the greatest producers and perfumers of Grasse, went on to create fragrances that combined French craftsmanship with American modernity, in the image of the very first fragrance released, Chicane, or Eau Cendrée. With Silences, the house of Jacomo renews the oriental genre by bringing more classic flowers to it in order to bring out its beautiful femininity, full of contrasts.
