If history and perfumery sales have paid tribute far more to the masculine version of Acqua di Gio than to the feminine version released a year earlier, that is not entirely fair. Indeed, Acqua di Gio pour Femme had more than one fragrant asset within its bottle and, moreover, it aimed to be highly innovative compared to the fragrances of its time.
At the origin of the birth of Acqua di Gio pour Femme, there was first and foremost its brilliant predecessor, the beautiful fruity floral created by Françoise Caron in 1992, Gio, created to translate into fragrance the image of the Armani woman. To these soft, refined scents, the designer wished to add his olfactory memories of his beloved southern lands on the island of Pantelleria, lined with brine and flowers. Thus the creator of Acqua di Gio pour Femme, Edouard Fléchier, brought together the flowers and fruits of Gio and the precious salty notes the designer wanted, into a bottle that would naturally be named Acqua di Gio pour Femme.
Acqua di Gio pour Femme would quickly prove to be a successful fragrance. So much so that the following year the house of Armani launched onto the market its masculine alter ego, composed by Alberto Morillas, the now famous and iconic Aqua di Gio pour Homme.

In the manner of the lovely Gio a few years earlier, the heart of Acqua di Gio carries one toward the floral beauty of rose, jasmine, freesia and hyacinth, without forgetting a touch of rather original sweet pea.
