Réminiscence and its story full of emotion

Nino Amaddeo was an Italian photographer living in Belgium. Zoé Coste, for her part, was a hairdresser. They met in 1970 in Juan-les-Pins and immediately fell in love. They shared their dreams and aspirations and decided together to create jewelry and open their own boutique on the Côte d'Azur. That is how they created a first shop in Juan-les-Pins where he sold accessories and perfumes inspired by the couple's many travels. The latter were created by Zoé Coste. At that time, the Réminiscence brand positioned itself mainly in the high-end costume jewelry market. It soon changed its name to the one we know today. With success following, the house wasted no time expanding, opening boutiques in Paris. Everyone seemed to swear only by Réminiscence's summery and exotic products. This is how Réminiscence grew to today have more than 178 points of sale across Europe. Zoé Coste, however, passed away in 2007 and handed her place to her daughter Lilla Amaddeo. The latter took over the direction of the style office and handles the company's creative side. Her brother Sébastien, meanwhile, runs a Réminiscence jewelry production company located in Thailand.

Réminiscence's perfumes

While Réminiscence initially focused on selling jewelry, perfume is now fully part of its activities. In fact, it accounts for 55% of the house's revenue, even though it continues to create an average of 275 jewelry designs per year. Réminiscence remains, above all, a brand born of passion. As such, it does not strive to follow trends but instead follows its inspiration first. As Nino Amaddeo explains, they are not the champions of strategy, and they have always let themselves be guided by their passions. This is, moreover, how one of the house's biggest successes was created: the perfume Rem. It stemmed from an idea that came to them in Saint-Barthélemy while the couple was on vacation there. They had forgotten their sun cream and bought a suntan lotion on the spot, whose scent instantly seduced them. Upon their return, they decided to turn it into a perfume, and it is now considered a true best-seller. This is how Réminiscence has always been run, with love, tenderness and spontaneity.
