Patchouli
Patchouli Réminiscence, or the myth of Patchouli Réminiscence, is above all a love story between Nino Amaddeo and his muse, Zoé. For 40 years, Réminiscence has imagined jewelry and perfumes inspired by the most beautiful places in the world. This is why Réminiscence perfumes are all distinctive olfactory poems.

Where to buy
It was in the 60s, in the heart of London and in Indian markets, that Zoé discovered the scent of patchouli. It would become the starting point of their house and their olfactory explorations. Patchouli Réminiscence honors patchouli, this scent synonymous with freedom.
Patchouli, or the story of a magical little leaf
Patchouli is an aromatic plant that grows mainly in Malaysia, China and India. Patchouli releases a woody, earthy, damp, camphoraceous, even dusty scent. Patchouli made its debut in perfumery in the mid-19th century. At that time, cashmere shawls that came from India were wrapped in patchouli leaves to fight off moths. It was actually this scent that attracted women, and patchouli quickly became an opportunity to wear fragrance and, for women, a weapon of seduction. Patchouli was also the emblem of hippies during the 70s. It was associated with the new definition of love, sensuality, and sexual freedom. Today, patchouli is an expensive and luxurious raw material. Rich and powerful, patchouli is a fragrance that awakens the senses and the mind.
Escaping with Patchouli Réminiscence
Patchouli Réminiscence bewitches and takes one to the depths of India. Patchouli Réminiscence opens on a strikingly boozy accord. This opening is accompanied by a woody facet, the connecting thread of the composition. The presence of cedar then comes to dominate the earthier facet of the patchouli. The heart is filled with vetiver and creamy Australian sandalwood. The base notes add particularly amber facets to these complex fragrances, thanks to the presence of labdanum, tonka bean and vanilla. The whole is delicately enriched with gourmand touches, thanks to a balsamic hint of tolu balsam and sweetness from white musks. The rectangular bottle is transparent and pure, slightly curved for a more sensual touch. The bottle is also scattered with platinum stars, extending onto the cap. A fragrance of ultimate femininity, Patchouli Réminiscence subtly transports the wearer. The myth of patchouli is present more than ever.
Founded in the 70s, the Réminiscence house finds its inspiration in its many travels. Nino and Zoé always return filled with emotion, which transforms into extraordinary fragrances. Patchouli Réminiscence, as its name indicates, honors patchouli. An aromatic plant from Asia, patchouli carries a unique history. A symbol across several generations, patchouli is associated with bohemian life or simply with freedom. In perfumery, it is adored by noses who can exploit its many facets. Regardless of the era, patchouli is an essential ingredient.

The advertising
Patchouli by Réminiscence is a cult fragrance of feminine perfumery. Indeed, while the Réminiscence brand is considered a rather understated house, situated far from the trends imposed by today's perfumery giants, Patchouli's renown has largely spread beyond the borders of France. Created in 1970, this perfume was initially met with a mixed reception, before becoming the icon of an entire hippie generation. From then on, it won the hearts of all of Europe before crossing the Atlantic and winning over the United States. Yet, as surprising as it may seem, Patchouli does not owe its success to its advertisements. It owes it above all to its woody, powerful breath, synonymous with freedom and escape.
With Réminiscence, no need for a face of the campaign
When it comes to advertising campaigns, the perfume industry is one of the most renowned. Indeed, the resources deployed to produce promotional television clips are simply colossal! Most of the time, perfume brands turn to world-famous ambassadors, moving through breathtaking settings, sometimes even relying on special effects worthy of the latest blockbusters. Models, actors, athletes… countless celebrities have already lent their image to a perfume! Yet, at Réminiscence, no celebrity can boast of having carried the renown of the perfume Patchouli. Indeed, it owes its success mainly to word of mouth. No face of the campaign appears in its advertising, and only its bottle remains the star of its commercial strategy.
The Patchouli bottle at the center of the advertising
The advertising for Patchouli by Réminiscence favors simplicity and sobriety. Everything begins with the appearance of the brand name, in white capital letters, against a black background. Then, the entire visual of this campaign turns to the Patchouli bottle. It is filmed from every angle, so as to reveal its smallest details. First, there is the rain of stars sweeping across its sides. Then, its slightly curved shoulders appear, as does its amber, syrupy juice. The words Réminiscence and Patchouli appear in turn through fade transitions, in very elegant silver lettering. The rays of daylight reflect elegantly in its glass. Finally, after 20 seconds of the campaign, the Réminiscence bottle is shown in its entirety. Beside it, several words appear one after another: a perfume… quickly followed by of legend. In a very simple way, without any embellishment or superfluous detail, Réminiscence reminds us that this is a cult fragrance of the 70s. Nothing more was needed to make one want to rediscover this feminine essence.
