Ambre or the dreamed-of land of Zoé Coste, the creator of Réminiscence

The story of the house of Réminiscence is intimately linked to the release of its first three fragrances in 1970, Patchouli, Musc and Ambre. First of all because they are the very first successes of the young house. But also because they are like the fruit of the dream that Zoé Coste and her companion Nino Amaddeo had when they decided to open their very first boutique in Juan-les-Pins. Undeniably they created the jewelry and perfume house Réminiscence entirely in their own image: a blend of cultures between East and West, a blend of colors, a blend of styles… Réminiscence is the fruit of multiple cross-influences; Réminiscence fragrances only make sense through this passion for blending.

Thus Zoé Coste brought back in her luggage from the Orient the precious scents of that still little-known continent, one that fascinates and inspires dreams. With the help of a perfume alchemist, she turned this into three fragrances, among them the lovely Ambre, which, even more than its companions, was built on the imagination of this visionary creator. For the amber in Ambre does not exist!

Since amber, coming from tree resin, cannot be transformed into a fragrance, perfumers had to create this mineral dream entirely from their imagination. This means Zoé Coste took the opportunity to offer us this Ambre entirely in her own image, powerful, spellbinding and terribly endearing.

The Thousand and One Nights in a bottle: Ambre by Réminiscence

Just like Patchouli and Musc, Ambre belongs to the Les Classiques collection by Réminiscence. Logically, then, it keeps its beautiful curved bottle decorated with a cluster of golden stars and topped with a steel cabochon, also studded with stars. However, the Ambre juice, glimpsed through the transparency of the glass, has the same visual qualities as the gemstone, a delight for the eyes!

Ambre opens on bright, lively notes of geranium enhanced by a powerful and generous clove. All the precious woods of the world seem to have gathered in the heart of this beautiful Ambre, which exhales notes of cedar, sandalwood, patchouli and guaiac wood as if to better enchant us with their oriental charms. Benzoin and vanilla form the gourmand sillage, accompanied by a wild labdanum that offers up its beautiful animalic sensuality to literally capture us in its scent.
