OrientalZoé Costes
Zoé Coste is a highly creative personality who has always drawn her inspirational strength from love. It is together with her husband, Nino Amaddeo, that she built her family business over time into one of the highest achievements in world perfumery. A look back at their story and at the incredible saga of the Réminiscence company. The meeting between Zoé Coste and Nino Amaddeo. Zoé Coste has always been an artist at heart, in love with travel and exoticism. A young French hairdresser in the 70s, she met Nino Amaddeo, an Italian photographer living in Belgium. The chemistry between them was immediate, so much so that they quickly decided to fulfill their dream by creating a jewelry and perfume business on the Côte d'Azur. They decided to call their company Réminiscence, a name known to all today.
At first, it was more of an immense bazaar filled with music, opulent scents, and jewelry, a hippie haven par excellence. This place combined all of Zoé Coste's joie de vivre and emotion with her husband's visionary aspirations. All of the items were handcrafted by local artisans using raw materials brought back by the couple from all four corners of the globe. These wanderers thus brought a touch of the exoticism of the distant lands they visited to offer to their clientele. Buying Réminiscence products meant treating oneself to a hint of fantasy in everyday life.
The future of Zoé Coste's company
Today, Zoé Coste's Réminiscence company boasts a history spanning more than 40 years. Unfortunately, Zoé Coste is no longer alive to witness its current scale. She did, however, work on the creation of great fragrances such as Rem, a perfume drawing directly on the sun-kissed amber of vacations spent in Saint-Barthélemy, and Patchouli, which became the emblem of the hippie movement of the 70s. Despite considerable growth, Réminiscence has managed to remain a family business. The two creators' son, Sébastien, has taken over the running of one of their factories in Thailand. Their daughter Lilla, meanwhile, oversees the creative side, adding her touch of magic at Réminiscence's creative studio, located in Cannes. Each of Réminiscence's creations resonates as a concentrate of travel and joy.
Zoé Coste thus conveyed throughout her career her love for cultural blending, travel, and distant lands. Her cheerfulness seems to have been contagious, and this is undoubtedly where the key to Réminiscence's immense success lies.
