Musc, the perfume by Réminiscence — when the wild beast smells clean! While Patchouli by Réminiscence has traveled the world since 1970, the two scents Musc and Ambre, released the same year, are just as remarkable, quite the contrary!

All the more so as Musc does not merely reproduce wild scents but truly makes them beautiful and, better still, sophisticated through contact with precious white flowers. Delicate ylang-ylang and animalic sensuality come together in this precious fragrance straight from the hippie years, all the better to surprise…

Musc by Réminiscence, a bold fragrant blend of purity and animality

In founding the house Réminiscence in 1970, the two founders Nino Amaddeo and Zoé Coste dreamed only of creating jewelry and scents in perfect harmony with their far-off travels and their overflowing imagination. Settled in a small boutique in Juan-Les-Pins, the couple created whimsical jewelry and, from the very first year, launched into the creation of perfumes. Perfumes conceived from the finest raw materials, as much as from their most beautiful dreams: Patchouli, Musc and Ambre were born in this beautiful cradle.

Patchouli very quickly became the best-seller of the brand, its powerful oriental scent having swept away all the flower-child lovers of that very hippy period. An aura that would largely outlast the boundaries of that era…

As for Musc, released the same year, it surprises as much as it seduces. Indeed, with such a name, one might have expected a wild concentrate of animalics, but on the contrary, the musk in Musc turns out to be the sensual force behind a cocktail of delicate and sophisticated flowers.

Musc is therefore the fruit of absolute contrasts between a raw material associated with the “dirty,” the “raw” — musk — and a precious and rare ylang-ylang flower. Such a combination was very bold for the time, giving Musc a great modernity that would not be seen again in perfumery until decades later, with Clair de Musc by Lutens, for instance.

Original and rare, since the dawn of time... Musk embodies itself in a fragrance of unsettling sensuality, an exquisite fusion of purity and animality. Réminiscence for Musc.

The very first appearance of white musks in the perfume Musc by Réminiscence

On the beautiful Musc bottle, only small golden stars adorn the curved glass. The steel cap is likewise engraved with these precious stars, like a sign of a path of dreams and fantasies. This lovely star-studded elixir was, moreover, created by Francis Camail under the artistic direction of the fabulous Réminiscence creator Zoé Coste.

Musc by Réminiscence opens on a very floral start thanks to a lovely essential oil of Comoros ylang-ylang, accompanied by soft white flower notes. At the heart, powdery and almond notes play on their tenderness, the better to hint at a truly shining tonka bean. The depths turn, of course, animalic, and coumarin blends with amber notes. A wild power that is wrapped in softness through one of the very first uses in perfumery of white musks.

A warm and rounded olfactory cotton, Musc refinedly evokes the softness of clean skin in its precious, floral and musky notes. Réminiscence for Musc.
