A bold and independent character, he decided to found his own house in 2002 and name it Parfum d'Empire. His ambition was then to be able to push the power of the finest natural raw materials to the extreme. Now fully independent, he does not hesitate to explore still little-known olfactory territory. So while leather is most often placed as a base note in perfumes, Marc-Antoine Corticchiato decided to make it the central element of Cuir Ottoman. The result is a rare quality in perfumery, with a very assertive character, revealing a sillage intended for discerning perfumery connoisseurs. The animalic and timeless character of Cuir Ottoman

While leather is one of Marc-Antoine Corticchiato's favorite raw materials, he once again demonstrated deep creativity here by adding smoky styrax accents as well as woodier birch notes. Cuir Ottoman comes across as a juice straight out of a tale from the Thousand and One Nights. It takes up the age-old story of leather, softening it with a powdery iris facet, a plant that only makes the whole more prestigious. Tears of incense as well as benzoin resin also give it a more oriental character. Vanilla, in turn, lends the whole its exotic, syrupy quality. Tonka bean, for its part, helps make this composition more gourmand before the whole is embraced by a tobacco accord evocative of the scent of hookahs.
