Black Up

Black Up

Black Up is the first perfume of the French makeup brand dedicated to medium to dark skin tones, which gave it its own name. Signed by Dora Baghriche-Arnaud, the oriental, floral and musky eau de parfum opens on blackcurrant, mandarin, lemon and licorice, devotes its heart to musk, rose, violet and iris, and finds its base in amber, patchouli, vanilla, sandalwood and Tolu balsam.

Where to buy

With Black Up, the house marks its entry into perfumery under its own name. Developed with professional makeup artists for medium to dark skin tones, the French brand entrusted its composition to Dora Baghriche-Arnaud, a perfumer at Firmenich.

The house describes it as a musky floral oriental, precious and sensual, where fruits melt into a powdery veil of musk and rose before sliding toward an amber base. It presents it as an Eau de Parfum, in a rectangular 50 ml bottle with clean lines, topped with a gold-toned cap.

Musk as a throughline

Musk runs through the entire composition. A review published at launch explained that the perfumer worked it to evoke the smell of bare skin, pairing it with Ambroxan, an amber molecule known for its tenacity and its second-skin effect.

A best-seller's return

The house now presents its Eau de Parfum as a best-seller returning in force. It describes its development through a fruity top, a musky and woody heart, and an amber base it wants to be powerful and refined.
