Paradoxe Intense

Paradoxe Intense is the eau de parfum launched by Prada in 2023, one year after Paradoxe. The house amplifies the contrasts of the original around three pillars: a superinfusion of jasmine, an amber accord built on Ambrofix, and a moss accord, signed by Nadège Le Garlantezec, Shyamala Maisondieu and Antoine Maisondieu. The triangular bottle lying on its side, with its coral pink juice and black shield, remains refillable like the entire range.

One signed reading: in 2023, Eddie Bulliqi sees Paradoxe Intense as a sugared moss soaked in cherry, with the exuberance of an animated film, which he finds charming if slightly derivative, so hard does it chase the Baccarat Rouge 540 effect.

What critics say

Eddie Bulliqi, Fragrantica

On September 28, 2023, Eddie Bulliqi compared Paradoxe with its Intense version. He saw the latter as an attempt to pour the Paradoxe template into the mold of Baccarat Rouge 540, one of the big sellers of the moment, with its base of burnt sugar and caramelized cotton candy.

The pear struck him as warmer and stickier than in the original, closer to strawberry jam than to the fresh fruit. The moss accord, fuzzier than leathery, and this berry syrup reminded him of Burberry’s Her, only more bitter and greener.

Jasmine and neroli add green touches that evoke cherry and mint, verging on cough syrup, and the sugared moss lends a soft chypre accent to a fruity gourmand.

In the end, he saw it as a frond of moss soaked in cherry, with the exuberance of a Disney film: charming, he judged, if slightly derivative.
