L’Eau Rosée

L’Eau Rosée is an eau de toilette from Miu Miu, launched in February 2018 and composed by Daniela Andrier. A floral chypre, it now plays on the two meanings of rosée, morning dew and the color pink: a lychee accord at the top, the house’s emblematic lily of the valley at the heart, white musks at the base.

Where to buy

Miu Miu, Miuccia Prada’s brand, introduced L’Eau Rosée in February 2018, for spring. The eau de toilette extends its first two perfumes, Miu Miu, launched in 2015, and L’Eau Bleue, and remains entrusted to Daniela Andrier, who created the other two.

The name does not refer to a rose, Now Smell This points out: it refers to the pink tint of the juice, just as L’Eau Bleue was blue. The house now plays on both meanings of the word, the morning dew and the color pink.

L’Eau Rosée is sold in ten, thirty, fifty and one hundred milliliters. At its launch, the house said it was made to express the spirit of the Miu Miu girl, free and whimsical.

What the house says

The house presents it as a floral chypre that reveals the most playful facet of lily of the valley: fresh as a new day, spontaneous as a pearly lychee dropped into a flute of pink champagne. It sees it as a way to have fun and to flip the rules.

It describes a cool, juicy lychee accord, whose rosy, luminous glints echo the bells of spring, and an airy white musk that lifts the whole, for a spring that turns pink.

What critics say

Jessica, writing for Now Smell This, warns that this is not a rose perfume: at its launch, she smells a clean, peppery lily of the valley under a veil of aldehydic white musk, which she plans to wear to the office all spring.

The L’Eau Rosée campaign brings together the house’s muse, the French-British actress Stacy Martin, and the Chinese model Sijia Kang. The two young women set off on an impromptu getaway, in a short film written and directed by Rebecca Zlotowski.

The campaign’s still images are by the photographer Alasdair McLellan. Stacy Martin had already lent her face to Miu Miu’s first perfume in 2015, photographed by Steven Meisel.
