Where to buy
He began his career alongside the greatest names, such as Donna Karan, Calvin Klein and Cerruti, where he served as artistic director. In 1996, he designed the wedding dress worn by Carolyn Bessette when she married John Kennedy Jr. This silk crepe sheath dress made him famous worldwide. Upon the death of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, who had become his muse and his friend, the designer created his first fragrance, dedicated exclusively to Carolyn, «For Her». Given the scale of its success, Narciso Rodriguez went on to offer numerous flankers, such as “L’Eau for Her”, airier and fresher.
An eternal tribute to Carolyn Bessette Kennedy
In 1999, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy died tragically along with her husband. Deeply affected by the loss of his friend, Narciso Rodriguez decided to dedicate a unique fragrance to her, an eternal tribute, which he named simply “For Her”. Given the immense success, Narciso Rodriguez presented several variations. “L’Eau for Her” launched in 2013, a tribute at the heart of a new sensuality. The Eau de Toilette is softer than the original. It is built around a slightly apricot-tinged floral accord. Although “L’Eau for Her” may appear sweet and innocent, it is nothing of the sort. This Eau de Toilette overflows with sensuality. It conceals an unexpected, even unhoped-for, carnal side. Narciso Rodriguez states that fragrance is a woman’s most intimate signature, and that he wanted to offer women a fragrance that highlights their inner beauty and their sensuality.
The sensual freshness of L’Eau for Her
“L’Eau for Her” is neither an Eau de Cologne nor an Eau de Toilette. Narciso Rodriguez retained the musky chypre structure of its predecessor. “L’Eau for Her” is presented as an airy, crystalline water. “L’Eau for Her” opens on a floral accord composed of jasmine, cyclamen and watery florals. The heart is ultra-feminine, with an armful of tender, sparkling flowers such as lily of the valley, peony and rose. The base is intended to be sensual, thanks to the presence of white musks paired with patchouli and amber. The bottle, elegant and understated, echoes the codes of its predecessors. It is reinterpreted in pale pink and transparent tones.
A flanker of a fragrance that has become legendary, “For Her”. Far more than a first fragrance, “For Her” is an eternal tribute to his friend Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. “L’Eau for Her” is an airier, more floral flanker that has nothing to envy in its predecessor. Elegant and seductive, the “L’Eau for Her” woman is naturally beautiful, recognizable through her charisma. “L’Eau for Her” is a freshly sensual variation, far less innocent than it appears.
