Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming

The composition unfolds in three stages. At the top, a tangy red-fruit accord in which the house names pomegranate, raspberry and blackcurrant, lifted by pink peppercorns. At the center, a duo of roses, Grasse rose and Damask rose, surrounds a peony accord; in the base, white musks soften the whole.

A honeyed, peppery rose

Demachy chose the Grasse rose for its honeyed, peppery facets; the pink peppercorns at the top extend that spice. Peony, which yields no essence, enters as an accord, and the white musks give the base its softness.

What the label declares

The ingredient list of the eau de parfum names no natural material. It declares linalool, limonene, benzyl salicylate, hexyl cinnamal, hydroxycitronellal, citronellol, coumarin, geraniol, eugenol, citral, benzyl benzoate, benzyl alcohol and farnesol.

Three filters, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane and ethylhexyl salicylate, protect the juice from light, and three colorants, CI 14700, CI 60730 and CI 19140, give it its deep pink.
