Rose Pompon

The house of Annick Goutal is the work of a fascinating and visionary woman with an unconventional path. She was first a pianist, then a model, before discovering a true olfactory gift. An artist at heart, she turned this new passion into a genuine calling.

She also imagined a world that resembled her, one that was refined, feminine and avant-garde. On many occasions, she paid tribute to flowers, and to the rose in particular, which she considered the most feminine of all. Accordingly, the house of Annick Goutal once again decided to create a fragrance dedicated to this thorny plant. It is called Rose Pompon.

Annick Goutal and her passion for roses

Annick Goutal is renowned for having created numerous soliflores in tribute to the most beautiful flowers of her own garden. Indeed, Annick Goutal was always fascinated by the blooming of plants, changing with each spring and evolving through the seasons. Still, among the many flowers dear to her, the rose stood as her favorite. She saw in it a mythical theme of perfumery paying tribute to femininity. It was in fact in homage to this passion for the rose that the juice Rose Splendide was created in 2010. It evoked a fresh, airy romanticism, as though still steeped in morning dew. This time, a new vision of the rose is offered in the fragrance Rose Pompon. As Annick Goutal put it so well, nature and its wonders guide me. My emotions become scents; I have named the dream that carries me perfume.

The playful elegance of Rose Pompon

Rose Pompon was created by Annick Goutal’s daughter, Camille, the new head of the house who succeeded her mother, together with Philippine Courtière. Together, they crafted a juice based on a fresh and sparkling rose, an unprecedented scent from a new horizon. To do so, they chose to open their fragrance with a burst of dynamism from bergamot. Then this citrus fruit, born of the crossing between lemon and bitter orange, gives way to a floral and fruity heart. It pairs the femininity of rose with the refinement of peony. Raspberry and blackcurrant, for their part, bring a juicier, more sparkling energy to the whole. Pink pepper also contributes a sense of impertinence and freedom to Rose Pompon. Finally, everything ends in a deeper sillage built on cedar, though still wrapped in an airy touch of white musk. Rose Pompon is a manifesto of the joy of living. It was designed for a sparkling, fresh woman, drawing every eye with her sun-kissed radiance. It is a juice both bold and addictive, one that could be described as a luminous, light rose. The whole is further enhanced by a bottle with a generous shape. The transparency of its glass has now been reimagined in rosy tones. As always, it is cut in facets. The whole achieves an exemplary refinement. The illustration on the packaging, meanwhile, is the work of the Australian artist Kerrie Hess.
