Luna Rossa Black, an unexpected freshness in a black-lacquered bottle

While Luna Rossa Black embodies the seventh version of Luna Rossa, it must be acknowledged that its composition radically departs from that of its predecessors. Indeed, until now, lavender was always placed at the center of Prada's fragrances. Today, it has completely disappeared. All that remains of Luna Rossa is its balance between freshness and power. The composition of Luna Rossa Black opens with a lively, floral pairing of angelica and bergamot. Coumarin then appears in its heart, bringing a more marine freshness. It is joined by patchouli, a virile ingredient that opens the way to a darker, more distinctive sillage. Finally, Luna Rossa Sport closes on a woody, amber base. This new fragrance is presented in the emblematic bottle of the Luna Rossa collection, originally designed by Swiss designer Yves Béhar. The whole is now entirely lacquered in black. Its iconic red band has completely disappeared, and two finishes, one matte and the other more shimmering, play off each other for a particularly refined result.

The various Luna Rossa fragrances by Prada

Luna Rossa Black is far from a first attempt for the house of Prada. It all began with a woody fougère dominated by lavender, in 2012. Then, in 2013, Luna Rossa Extrême placed the emphasis on a more crystalline bergamot dotted with spices. In 2015, Luna Rossa Sport became more effervescent, pairing lavender with ginger and juniper berries. In 2016, the Eau Sport emerged as the most energizing version of the range. Finally, the latest Luna Rossa Carbon, from 2017, expressed a more mineral freshness.
