L’Heure Bleue 2026 is the eau de parfum Delphine Jelk composed for Guerlain, released on August 28, 2026 under the name of the 1912 classic, which has been renamed L’Heure Bleue 1912. An ozonic accord, pear, and neroli open onto a twofold iris, a tincture created by the house and iris butter, alongside jasmine, over a base of vanilla, ambroxan, and musks. Guerlain classifies it as a floral amber.
Guerlain classifies L’Heure Bleue 2026 as a floral amber and breaks its notes down into three tiers. The house claims the Guerlinade for it, the base accord that has signed its perfumes for more than a century, and makes iris its main material.
An ozonic accord at the top
The opening pairs an ozonic accord, which the house describes as an airy, crystalline freshness inspired by the sky, with pear and neroli. This kind of accord gives a cold, mineral freshness, closer to the air after rain than to a flower.
Two forms of iris at the heart
At the heart, the iris tincture created for the composition joins iris butter and jasmine. Iris butter, drawn from rhizomes dried for several years, carries the flower’s powdery, cool facet; the tincture, according to Guerlain, gives a greener reading of it.
Vanilla, ambroxan, and musks in the base
The base brings together vanilla, ambroxan, and musks. Ambroxan is an ambery, dry, and highly diffusive molecule that has become the backbone of many mass-market fragrances. The vanilla links the perfume to Guerlain’s palette more than to the 1912 composition.
What the label declares
The ingredient list Guerlain publishes for formula #22932 opens with alcohol, fragrance, and water. It declares ylang-ylang, rose, jasmine, bergamot, bitter orange, orange blossom, and patchouli oils, along with a synthetic woody amber material.
It also lists anethole, with its aniseed scent, coumarin, benzaldehyde, which smells of almond, and vanillin. The list includes three colorants, violet, yellow, and blue, and a UV filter, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, which protects the juice from light.
An ingredient list is not a formula: it declares only the substances subject to labeling and says nothing about dosages. It nonetheless points to aniseed and almond facets, associated with the 1912 composition, that the official notes do not name.
What separates the two L’Heure Bleue
The 1912 original rests on anise, bergamot, carnation, violet, and neroli, over a base of iris, vanilla, benzoin, and tonka bean. Only iris, neroli, and vanilla carry over into 2026; the ozonic accord and ambroxan are foreign to the original.
