Glossier You

Glossier You appeared in 2017, the brand's first perfume, signed by Frank Voelkl and Dora Baghriche at Firmenich. The house presents it as a revealer of skin scent: pink pepper at the opening, iris root, and a base of ambrette seed, ambroxan and musk that carries most of the formula.

Where to buy

Glossier, an American beauty brand, waited until 2017 for its first perfume. You quickly became a commercial mainstay, since extended into variations, body creams and candles, without the brand changing its original formula.

Frank Voelkl and Dora Baghriche, both perfumers at Firmenich, signed the formula. Voelkl wrote Santal 33 for Le Labo; the initial idea, driven by Baghriche, centered on the comfort of ambroxan, ambrette and musk.

Emily Weiss, the brand's founder, described what she was looking for as the smell of a partner's neck after eight hours of wear. The brief called for a soft warmth and a fragrance that would feel good on the person wearing it.

The line expanded starting in 2024 with Doux, Rêve, Fleur and Soie, all built on a shared ambroxan base. The original fragrance is sold in France at Sephora, in ten, fifty and one hundred milliliters.

Olfastory’s review

The press praises a comfortable iris musk, questions its longevity, and doubts the promise of a fragrance that smells different on everyone.
