Abyssae
Abyssae joined L’Artisan Parfumeur’s La Botanique collection in 2022, the seventh signature by Daphné Bugey for this series. A cold eucalyptus, a restrained Damask rose, a green fig, a woody cashmeran: the house sought here the scent of an abyssal flora. The number 33 in its launch name refers to the number of attempts before reaching the right formula.

L’Artisan Parfumeur launched Abyssae in July 2022, under the name 33 Abyssae. The composition is by Daphné Bugey, who signs here her seventh entry in La Botanique, a collection opened in 2016 under the name Natura Fabularis.
Thirty-three trials
The number that preceded the name at launch counts the attempts. The house states that it took thirty-three to hold the balance between eucalyptus, fig, rose and cashmeran. Each fragrance in the series thus carries its own number.
An abyssal flora
The collection's premise rests on a nature that shifts at dusk. Daphné Bugey imagined for Abyssae an abyssal flora, and the house proposes diving into it to bring back hidden treasures.
An award, an extension
The Fragrance Foundation France recognized Abyssae in 2023 in its niche fragrance category, affiliated brand. The house has since drawn from it a separately sold extrait, Abyssae L’Extrait.
