L'Artisan Parfumeur launched La Chasse aux Papillons in 1999. The composition is the work of Anne Flipo, whose art of marrying natural material with the precision of synthetics the house praises.
A childhood memory
The story comes down to one scene. Summer days that never end, meadows in full bloom, wispy white clouds, and butterflies fluttering above a child lying in the shade of the orange trees.
The house likens the delicacy of the perfume to that of butterfly wings and the gauze of nets. It sums the result up in three words: soft, luminous and pure.
L'Extrême is another juice
Anne Flipo also signs La Chasse aux Papillons Extrême, an eau de parfum sold separately. The house does not declare the same materials for it: jasmine, tuberose and ylang-ylang, where the eau de toilette carries jasmine, linden blossom and orange blossom.
The confusion runs through the market. Retailers serve the composition of the Extrême under the name of the eau de toilette, when the house keeps two separate pages and two prices, one hundred and seventy euros and one hundred and ninety-five.
A house celebrating its fiftieth year
L'Artisan Parfumeur celebrates its fiftieth anniversary in 2026. La Chasse aux Papillons belongs to La Collection, its permanent range, and is sold in one hundred millilitres. The house also draws a shower gel from it.
