Gourmand Coquin, Oriental Brûlant and Chypre Fatal stand out and burst forth in different feminine faces. Chypre Fatal will be that of seduction of fire and ice, the promise of a rendez-vous?

Boldness and seduction for an innovative Chypre Fatal fragrance…

Guerlain had already initiated a distinctly bolder new communication with Idylle and the promise of a sensual rendez-vous between shadows and light… The Elixirs Charnels collection offered by Christine Nagel and Sylvaine Delacourte would go even further by offering a range of propositions each sexier than the last in order to answer feminine fantasies in fragrance form. Thus Gourmand Coquin plays on the strength of sweet notes to make the woman appetizing, Oriental Brûlant becomes aphrodisiac and Chypre Fatal plays on its contrasts to bewitch…

And what a love potion this Chypre Fatal is! Indeed Christine Nagel plays with Guerlain's classic chypre fragrances such as Mitsouko to modernize them and make them utterly irresistible. Thus Chypre Fatal aims to be fire under ice, the woman who is by turns tender and velvety then arrogant and distant, all the better to drive mad the man she covets.

A few drops in the hollow of the décolleté are enough to stir trouble, when the curve of a bare breast is barely revealed. One then glimpses what is known as fire under ice, so dear to the heroines of Alfred Hitchcock. Those fascinating women who are never fully conquered. Guerlain on Chypre Fatal.

Chypre Fatal, or the meeting according to Guerlain of a rose and a sweet patchouli wood…

While the chypre scent of Mitsouko is legendary, the house of Guerlain has in the end made very few chypre fragrances aside from Rose Barbare in 2005 signed by Francis Kurkdjian, Songe d’un Bois d’Été by Thierry Wasser in 2013 and of course Chypre Fatal released before that. Thus the house innovates not only through a disconcertingly sensual communication but also through accords it uses only very sparingly.

Chypre Fatal opens with fruity, velvety white peach notes like a veil of sweetened milk that blends with a dynamic, light bergamot. At heart the rose, so delicate, found in the great majority of Guerlain fragrances becomes tinged with warm, fiery spices, all the better to make its masculine prey succumb. The intense depths of patchouli finish capturing the conquered man, who will see in this fragrant trap only the touch of a delightfully gourmand vanilla as an escape from this Chypre Fatal. But it is already too late!

Both chic and sexy, Chypre Fatal evokes a rebellious woman of extreme elegance, an icon of fatal seduction. It is a fruity chypre with an intense sillage. Around an imperial rose made woody by patchouli come vanilla and white peach, which soften the accord in pure sensuality. Guerlain on Chypre Fatal.
