When he joined the venerable house of Guerlain as in-house perfumer, Thierry Wasser became acquainted, notably, with La Petite Robe Noire, which Delphine Jelk had created as a limited edition in 2009. He immediately fell in love with it and decided to modernize it a little further to offer it to a wide audience in 2012.
What is less well known, however, is that Thierry Wasser loved this composition but found the idea of its name completely pointless! Nevertheless, he accepted the idea, amused by the notion of pulling off a heist on a fashion icon for a brand that has done nothing but beauty for 186 years.
From its very first public appearance, La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Parfum drew attention for its powerful gourmand scents and its bold spirit. Success came quickly, and in 2013 Guerlain introduced La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Toilette to perfume women in love with the fragrance for beautiful summer evenings.
La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Toilette was therefore designed by Thierry Wasser to be mischievous and carefree, through scents far more floral and airy than the original juice.

La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Toilette is dressed in a cocktail dress far more low-cut than La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Parfum. Thus, while the top notes remain largely the same, that is to say built around citrus notes, bergamot replaces the original lemon in the Eau de Toilette to be even more sparkling from the moment the bottle is opened.
It is above all through the heart notes that the difference between La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Parfum and La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Toilette becomes most noticeable. Indeed, for the Eau de Parfum it was particularly the fruits that held their own against the rose, whereas in the Eau de Toilette it is the exotic and luminous flowers that are the stars of the fragrance. Orange blossom and jasmine accompany the rose in its dance, surrounding themselves with a pretty green note and a few touches of fruit.
Finally, La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Toilette retains the sensual, woody depths of the original juice, reminding us of course of the iconic Guerlinade, though a largely modernized Guerlinade.
