Kenzo Amour

Kenzo Amour is an eau de parfum launched by Kenzo in 2006, created by Daphné Bugey and Olivier Cresp. The house describes it as a floral woody musky scent, a tribute to Balinese offerings: rice and white tea at the top, frangipani and cherry blossoms with heliotrope, and a base of vanilla, white musks and incense. Karim Rashid designed its colorful bottle.

A pure-lined bottle by Karim Rashid, inspired by Brancusi’s Bird in Space, in fuchsia, white or orange depending on the size.

The bottle is the work of designer Karim Rashid, who had created the Ryoko packaging and the Kenzo Summer bottle for Kenzo, according to Now Smell This. The house says it is inspired by Brancusi’s Bird in Space: pure curves, a gentle verticality, an invitation to caress.

Osmoz sees in it the stylized evocation of an abstract, imaginary bird. The color changes with the size, fuchsia for 30 ml, white for 50 ml, orange for 100 ml according to Now Smell This; the white box bears a bird in flight that wraps all the way around it.

Jeanne Doré (Auparfum) first likened these three bottles to traditional sake bottles, or to certain Shiseido bottles such as that of Féminité du Bois; the reference to Brancusi, she specifies, was only claimed later.
