Orphéon

Diptyque launched Orphéon in 2021 as an eau de parfum to mark its sixtieth anniversary: the house was born in 1961 from the meeting of Desmond Knox-Leet, Yves Coueslant and Christiane Gautrot. Olivier Pescheux signed the formula, designed for everyone, regardless of gender.

A Saint-Germain bar

In the early 1960s, Saint-Germain lived to the rhythm of jazz clubs and artistic encounters. The Orphéon was one of those bars where the three founders, who lived nearby, liked to meet at nightfall, a stone’s throw from their boutique at 34 boulevard Saint-Germain.

All that remains of it today is a faceted blue column, kept at the back of that boutique. The house makes its eau de parfum a portrait of that era of creative friendships, amid swirls of tobacco, powdery makeup and polished woods.

An eau de toilette in 2026

In February 2026, Diptyque added an eau de toilette to the collection. The same year, the eau de parfum receives a 75 ml holiday edition, and its emblematic bottle an exceptional 200 ml size.
