Eau des Sens

Diptyque launched Eau des Sens in spring 2016. Auparfum announced it as early as January for the month of March, as a new eau de toilette built around a spicy orange blossom, and ÇaFleurBon counts it among the house’s spring releases.

The whole bitter orange tree

The principle of the creation, according to Diptyque, is to bring together in a single fragrance every dimension of the bitter orange tree: its branches, its leaves, its flowers and its fruits. The house speaks of a daring bet and of a composition that unsettles the senses.

The launch press release, quoted by Tammy Schuster on ÇaFleurBon, described the orange tree in its entirety, from the white petals of the blossom to the dark green leaves and the juicy, bitter Seville orange hanging from the branches.

Olivier Pescheux

Olivier Pescheux signs the composition, credited by ÇaFleurBon and by Australian Perfume Junkies. Diptyque describes it as both caressing and gourmand, able to make the mouth water while awakening with its freshness.

Free of any notion of gender, like all of the house’s fragrances, Eau des Sens comes as a 50 and 100 ml eau de toilette, refillable in boutiques, and is also offered as a hair fragrance and a body lotion.
