Orphéon is the unisex eau de parfum Diptyque launched in 2021 for its sixtieth anniversary, signed by Olivier Pescheux. It pays tribute to a 1960s Paris bar next to the boulevard Saint-Germain boutique, where the three founders used to meet: juniper berries and jasmine rest on cedar and tonka bean, amid swirls of tobacco and polished woods.

Diptyque sums up Orphéon in four materials: juniper berries, jasmine, cedar and tonka bean. The house describes a bubbling energy, where the warmth of tonka bean meets the depth of cedar and the liveliness of juniper berries.

From juniper to cedar

Richard Goller of Fragroom reads it in tiers: aromatic juniper berries open the fragrance, jasmine takes over, and the base brings together cedar and tonka bean, from which a musky, rosy powderiness emerges.

A woody floral

Robin of Now Smell This files Orphéon among the woody florals. The jasmine stays light, and the tobacco, powder and polished wood of the old bar come through in the accord of cedar and tonka bean.

What the label declares

The list published by the house declares, after denatured alcohol, fragrance and water, a series of regulated allergens: benzyl salicylate, limonene, linalool, hydroxycitronellal, geraniol, citronellol, coumarin, citral, cinnamal and isoeugenol.
