Orphéon is the unisex eau de parfum Diptyque launched in 2021 for its sixtieth anniversary, signed by Olivier Pescheux. It pays tribute to a 1960s Paris bar next to the boulevard Saint-Germain boutique, where the three founders used to meet: juniper berries and jasmine rest on cedar and tonka bean, amid swirls of tobacco and polished woods.
In 2021, Richard Goller of Fragroom found a simple composition that grows with wear, while Varanis Ridari of The Scented Devil praised the directness of its juniper. In 2025, Naomi Jamieson of woman&home called it the fragrance she would wear in every season.
What critics say
On its release, in 2021
For Richard Goller (Fragroom, April 29, 2021), Orphéon is a simple composition that does not immediately stand out as a Diptyque favorite but wins him over a little more with each wearing.
Varanis Ridari (The Scented Devil, May 9, 2021) gives it his approval: he very much likes the raw directness of its juniper and sees it as better suited to seasoned enthusiasts.
Four years later
Naomi Jamieson (woman&home, July 22, 2025) would choose it if she could wear only one fragrance: she calls it ethereal, at ease in every season without ever feeling heavy.
