In 2018, Charles-Philippe describes a surprising opening of apple, plum and bergamot, rounded by cinnamon, before a brief passage of fresh wood shavings. The heart gives way to mahogany, geranium and a touch of gourmand vanilla.

He praises a respectable sillage in the first hours but sees its short life as its weak point: after a few hours, only a trace remains. He keeps it for the colder months and for mature men, and finds it ideal for the office.

Ian Y. E. Pan, a first fragrance

On July 27, 2021, Ian Y. E. Pan recounts that Boss Bottled was his first real fragrance. He first smells cinnamon, green apple and vanilla; after an hour or two, the vanilla lingers on a woody background while the cinnamon fades.

He finds it professional in style, a white shirt and a navy suit, and distinctive enough not to smell like everyone else. He faults it for being a little too formal for every day and for not lasting long, and wears it in spring and fall.

Wondernose and Unruh, Parfumo

On March 1, 2012, Wondernose saw in Boss Bottled a half-gourmand business apple, in which apple and cinnamon dominate after the freshness of the opening. On November 29, 2014, Unruh, by contrast, found the whole too synthetic and preferred its base of sandalwood, cedar, and vetiver.
