Hugo Boss launched Boss Bottled in 1998, a men’s eau de toilette composed by Annick Menardo, which the house now presents as the first gourmand fragrance for men. It describes it through an opening of apple and citrus, a heart of geranium, cinnamon and clove, and a base of sandalwood, cedar, vetiver and vanilla.
A transparent glass bottle with clean lines, embossed with the word BOSS and topped with a brushed silver cap.
The house credits the bottle with clean lines that make Boss Bottled, in its words, a great classic; its French description mentions transparent glass with an elegant design, topped with a brushed silver cap.
Charles-Philippe of Bespoke Unit describes it as understated: BOSS is embossed on one side, and Hugo Boss is written backwards on the back so it reads correctly through the glass. He would have preferred a steel cap to a plastic one.
On its American site, the house now shows it with an updated logo. The eau de toilette is sold in 30, 50 and 100 milliliter sizes, and the silver box lists the notes on its back, a rare touch according to Bespoke Unit.
