This is Him ! Burning Love

This Is Him! Burning Love Eau de Toilette: the man in flames After the rock epic of This Is Him! (2016), Zadig Voltaire fires up the amp again with This Is Him! Burning Love (2025). Perfumer Annick Menardo ignites the hooded trio of incense, grapefruit and vanilla in an orange-rum shaker. The result: an amber leathery woody, more incandescent than This Is Love!, bolder than the Undressed edition, but still true to the brand's Paris-rock DNA.

Composition: the olfactory pyramid

Top: flambéed orange & black pepper

A flambéed blood orange zest crackles on the skin, heightened by a crisp black pepper that signals the rising adrenaline.

Heart: amber rum & rock incense

The heart pulses to the rhythm of a creamy spiced rum, entwined with a smoky incense evoking an underground club scene shrouded in amp smoke.

Base: carnal vanilla, burning wood & dry amber

The base weaves a gourmand Madagascar vanilla with a burning wood accord and a thread of dry amber. Longevity: approximately 10 hours on skin, leather-vanilla trace on fabric.

Bottle: black monolith scarred with red

Matte black brick, glossy red gash like a lava flow; brushed metal spray.

The minimalist block is draped in matte black marked with a glossy red scar that still seems warm. A raw design, as irresistible as a guitar riff.

Advertising campaign

Under the lens of Floria Sigismondi, model Jordan Barrett cuts through the Parisian night on a café-racer motorcycle. The tires trace red sparks while the garage rock track “Blaze Of Us” shakes the asphalt. Final tagline: “Love burns hard”.

Review & verdict

This Is Him! Burning Love trades the original incense-grapefruit for a fiery orange-rum-vanilla triad: smooth enough for a black blazer, rebellious enough for a leather jacket. On warm skin, the rum takes on cocoa accents; in cool weather, the orange note glows like red neon. Sustained projection during the first hour, then an intimate halo — perfect for a night date, a rock festival or summer rooftops.
