Bonbon: Between regressive sweets and seductress temptations... Viktor Rolf had already offered delicate fragrances in their astonishing and jubilant overdosed cocktail Flowerbomb.
Bonbon is the name of a fragrance by the house Viktor & Rolf. Released in 2014, Bonbon is a fragrance that honors pleasure. Bonbon is like an invitation to a moment of pure pleasure, an invitation to unprecedented and above all unsuspected olfactory moments. It is true that Viktor & Rolf, the “Dupont and Dupont” of fashion, love to invent against the grain, to shake up the codes of fashion and art. After explosive fragrances like Flowerbomb or Spicebomb, the two partners awaken our sense of smell and our taste buds!
Gourmand indulgence in the hands of a duo of perfumers
It was Thierry Mugler who first opened the way for so-called gourmand fragrances. With Angel, released in 1992, perfumery discovered a new family. To create another revolutionary fragrance, Viktor & Rolf called on Serge Majouiller and Cécile Matton. Serge Majouiller was born in Grasse, like many perfumers. He says he draws inspiration from the scents of nature, but also from markets or the smells of everyday life. He is responsible for beautiful fragrances, such as Elle L'Aime by Lolita Lempicka as well as the flankers of Bonbon. Coming from a family of adventurers, Cécile Matton grew up in Zaire. Perhaps it is her childhood that led her toward a love of flavors and scents. She loves working with orcanox or musk, which she says fascinate her. Cécile Matton is behind Stronger With You by Armani as well as all the flankers of Bonbon.
A colorful confection!
Dive into Bonbon and you will discover an ocean of gourmand flavors. Between caramel, chocolate, peach, mandarin and lemon, there is no doubt that the olfactory flavors are overwhelming. The result is one big, delicious candy. Caramel envelops the entire composition. It is by turns milky, crisp, soft, or sweet. Bonbon opens with fruity, tangy notes such as mandarin and orange surrounded by a crisp caramel. The heart of Bonbon leans floral, combining the luminosity of orange blossom and the opulence of jasmine. At once smooth, sensual and gourmand, the base combines cedarwood, caramel, chocolate, amber and sandalwood. The caramel appears in the base with a browner, almost overcooked character, for a maximum sweet effect. The bottle of the bonbon is of course shaped like a candy! It should be noted that the bottle results from a perfect mastery of the art of pleating in glass blowing. Majestic, Bonbon is so for our sight, our sense of smell as well as our taste buds…
Here, indulgence awakens our sense of smell… Bonbon is an unprecedented creation, taking us toward moments of sweet and deliciously addictive pleasure. With such gourmand ingredients, Bonbon is without question a fragrance to be savored without restraint.
