The house Guerlain has always been synonymous with excellence and respect for tradition. However, this does not prevent it from pushing its boldness ever further and enriching its existing collections with new prestigious fragrances.
It was in 2017 that Guerlain chose to expand its Aqua Allegoria collection, a true ode to nature, with Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria. To create this collection, Guerlain's entire team, primarily Thierry Wasser, the house perfumer, traveled the planet to find the finest scents in order to showcase them. Each Aqua Allegoria transports us to a particular corner of the world, a country or a region. With Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria, the house Guerlain takes us to Italy, more precisely to the region of Reggio.
The Aqua Allegoria collection
Each fragrance in the Aqua Allegoria collection pays tribute to nature and to the finest raw materials it offers. Each perfume is an olfactory journey and tells the story of a country: India, Italy, China, the United States, Venezuela, or France. In a spirit of endless renewal, Guerlain chose to showcase raw materials in each of its fragrances. The Aqua Allegoria collection began in 1999, but Guerlain did not want it to be a line of Eau de Cologne. In a contemporary spirit, the Aqua Allegoria collection reveals a new conception of freshness. Between allegory and joy, Guerlain's collection truly breaks new ground, offering original fragrances between Eau de Cologne and perfume. It is of course Thierry Wasser who created all the fragrances in this original collection.
Bergamot from Calabria
With Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria, Guerlain takes us to Italy. Bergamot comes from the bergamot tree, grown mainly in Calabria. A citrus fruit close to the lemon, bergamot nonetheless has a more powerful, more penetrating aroma. It is also a citrus fruit that releases extraordinary freshness. Bergamot is found mainly in the south of Calabria, in the region of Reggio, which accounts for 90% of world production. Bergamot from Calabria is the common thread running through the entire composition. In the top notes, petitgrain joins bergamot, bringing its sparkling, citrus tonality. The more powerful heart combines cardamom with ginger. The base is at once tender and sensual, featuring white musks. Finally, the bottle resembles all those of the Aqua Allegoria collection, echoing the brand's iconic Flacon aux Abeilles.
A vivid, sun-drenched fragrance… Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria takes us directly to Italy, to the region of Reggio. Luminous and radiant, the new fragrance in the Aqua Allegoria collection once again pays tribute to nature.
