Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria

The house Guerlain has always been synonymous with excellence and respect for tradition. However, this does not prevent it from pushing its boldness ever further and enriching its existing collections with new prestigious fragrances.

The Aqua Allegoria perfumes by Guerlain are true works of art and all draw inspiration from the brand's prestigious past. Thus, they are crafted as a kind of Eau de Cologne of the past, revisited with modernity and cheerfulness. Each of them also transports us to a particular place on the globe, like an infinitely fragrant garden where a luxurious and refreshing scent floats. Bergamote Calabria takes us to the heart of Calabria and leaves behind a soft citrus scent. Sun-kissed and sparkling, this perfume is perfectly suited to summer days. But what about its bottle? In reality, the design of the Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria bottle draws inspiration from one of Guerlain's most beautiful pieces.

Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria, the legacy of the Flacon aux Abeilles

Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune comes in a cylindrical bottle whose shape is not unfamiliar to us. Indeed, its bottle draws inspiration from the emblematic Flacon aux Abeilles by Guerlain, designed in 1853. As a reminder, it is one of the most prestigious bottles in the entire history of perfumery. Created in collaboration with the Pochet du Courval glassworks, it was originally a bottle blown at 450 degrees, then covered in fine gold. It was sculpted with numerous bees and scalloped motifs. The whole was also topped with a dome and a gold ball, two elements inspired by the famous Vendôme column, located just a few meters from Guerlain's boutique of the time, then located at 12 rue de la Paix, in Paris. At the time, the beauty of the Flacon aux Abeilles earned Guerlain the prestige of being named official perfumer to Her Majesty by Empress Eugénie. In bringing this bottle up to date, Guerlain thus wished to pay tribute to one of the finest works of its career. Even today, nearly 170 years after its creation, Guerlain's Flacon aux Abeilles still enjoys international renown.

The sun-kissed modernity of the Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic bottle by Guerlain

While the Bergamote Calabria bottle borrows many codes from its prestigious predecessor, it has a personality all its own. Its cylindrical shape and its dome have been preserved. However, its opaque gold lacquer has completely disappeared, in favor of a transparent green. Thus, it plays with light and creates multiple reflections in its juice. To recall the gold of the past, the perfume is given a bright yellow color. Moreover, this also echoes the citrus fruits, very present in its composition. A honeycomb-carved dome references Guerlain's iconic insect, while the bee itself is engraved on the small golden ball. Only a white label breaks the omnipresence of gold. It bears the name of this perfume as well as that of Guerlain. It should also be noted that all Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria fragrances are only available in a single size. Thus, the Bergamote Calabria bottle only exists in a 125 ml format.
