1 Million: Chic, luxury and impertinence for an original fragrance. Breaking the codes of masculine perfumery while offering a story with a strong and impertinent fragrance: One Million had to be exceptional. Between the fragrance, the packaging, the visuals and the advertising communication, all the elements came together in 2008 to make One Million a perfumery success.
In 2008, Paco Rabanne released an absolutely revolutionary fragrance: 1 Million. A masculine fragrance made of gold, 1 Million reflects excess, opulence, envy and desire. Paco Rabanne, a lover of gold as a material, decided to turn it into a perfume. The bottle shaped like a gold bar was unprecedented in the history of perfumery. From its release, 1 Million topped the sales charts and remained there for 5 years! 1 Million is aimed at seductive, confident men. Because it embodies both the Bad Boy and the Gentleman, the 1 Million fragrance is ultra seductive.
A trio of perfumers behind 1 Million
To create this daring nectar, Paco Rabanne called upon 3 perfumers: Christophe Raynaud, Olivier Pescheux and Michel Girard. Unlike many perfumers, Christophe Raynaud was not born in Grasse. He managed to enter the prestigious perfumery school in Versailles, ISIPCA, then was hired by Créations Aromatics, before joining Givaudan. Christophe Raynaud is behind some very beautiful perfumes, such as Luna by Nina Ricci or Jeu d’Amour Élixir by Kenzo. Olivier Pescheux followed a path similar to that of Christophe Raynaud, since after entering ISIPCA, he too was hired by Givaudan. He is considered a highly talented and genuine perfumer. He has already created fine fragrances such as Legend by Montblanc, or Chrome Legend by Azzaro. Michel Girard, for his part, joined Givaudan in 1998. He currently collaborates with major haute couture houses, and his creativity seems limitless. He is behind L’Homme Lacoste by Lacoste and L’Air by Nina Ricci. All three decided to make 1 Million an oriental, seductive fragrance with particularly well-chosen ingredients.
1 Million… Between freshness and temptation
As bright and sparkling as gold, the composition of 1 Million oscillates between freshness, virility, sensuality and modernity. 1 Million opens on notes of freshness, those of grapefruit and also blood orange, likewise very invigorating. These notes are then heightened by peppermint. The heart continues its course toward spicy tones such as cinnamon, contrasted with rose absolute, which offers a very romantic, yet decidedly ambiguous, feminine touch. The base of 1 Million develops into an ultra virile leather-spice accord. The amber and leather sillage leaves an ultra seductive trace. Here, the blond leather accord is paired with amber notes, as well as patchouli and white woods… Masculine seduction is then at its peak. Flamboyant and disconcerting, 1 Million is a particularly scandalous fragrance.
1 Million is one of Paco Rabanne’s great successes. It would be given an alter ego with Lady Million. The trio of perfumers created an oriental fragrance, seductive and contrasted.
