Black Opium Glitter, an edition launched at the end of 2024 by Yves Saint Laurent, slips the signature coffee and orange blossom accord of Black Opium into a musky marshmallow accord, over an infusion of bourbon vanilla. Wikiparfum attributes the composition to Nathalie Lorson, Marie Salamagne, Olivier Cresp and Honorine Blanc-Hattab. The house presents it between false innocence and assumed sensuality, in a bottle dressed in silver glitter.

Lemon, pear and green mandarin open the fragrance in Wikiparfum's breakdown; the house, for its part, does not distinguish tiers and speaks of accords.

Orange blossom holds the heart, luminous according to the house; Wikiparfum adds sambac jasmine to it.
Base
The infusion of bourbon vanilla, musk and coffee make up the base, where the house places its musky marshmallow accord, the novelty of this edition: the marshmallow wraps the coffee and orange blossom of Black Opium in a sweetness that YSL calls an armor.
What the label declares
The ingredients list opens, after alcohol, fragrance and water, with benzyl salicylate and benzyl alcohol, balsamic and sweet. Alpha-isomethyl ionone, powdery, and two orange blossom materials, hydroxycitronellal and methyl anthranilate, occupy positions seven through nine.
Hexyl cinnamal, coumarin, almond-like, farnesol, limonene, citronellol, geraniol and citral, along with cinnamic alcohols and aldehydes, complete the list. Three dyes, red 33, red 4 and violet 2, tint the juice. No coffee material appears in it, nor vanillin.
Other readings
iFragrance breaks it down differently: marshmallow and black coffee in the top, sweet accord and orange blossom in the heart, musky accord and bourbon vanilla in the base. The two readings agree on the materials, not on their placement.
