Trésor Midnight Rose is the fruity, rosy variation on Trésor, launched by Lancôme in 2011. Anne Flipo sets raspberry and blackcurrant bud against a rose absolute, with jasmine and peony holding the middle, and closes on vanilla, cedar and musks. Emma Watson fronted the campaign.

What the house declares
Lancôme names raspberry, blackcurrant bud absolute, rose absolute, jasmine, vanilla and musk. An earlier list added pink pepper, peony and cedar.
The materials
The opening is fruity and sharp: raspberry and blackcurrant bud give a cutting green edge often taken for whole blackcurrant. Pink pepper adds a dry, peppery touch.
The middle belongs to the rose, in absolute form, softened by jasmine and peony. The base is short and round: vanilla, white musks, Virginia cedar and amber woods, which carry the trail without weighing it down.
What the label declares
The printed list is brief. After denatured alcohol, fragrance and water, it carries three UV filters — ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, ethylhexyl salicylate and butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane — and one antioxidant, BHT.
The rest is the allergen declaration: linalool, geraniol, alpha-isomethyl ionone, limonene, citral, citronellol. Six names only, and no declared colorant. No lilial, no lyral.
